 Askrigg is a quiet Dales village found nestling next to the River Ure in
Wensleydale, about 5 miles from the busy market town of Hawes
The village became famous as part of the setting for the TV series All Creatures Great And Small. One of the village pubs is still recognisable as The Drovers Arms Also found in the village is a newsagents and post office, general store, pottery and restaurants. |
| Many walks through Wensleydale can be started from the village, or
time can be spent wandering around the old side streets. The River
Ure can be followed along its course to the splendid and spectacular
waterfalls at Aysgarth.
